Overview

In the foothills of the Cilento National Park, there is a small family farm. Here, Amedeo and Lisa run an agricultural unicum that uses only its own products to propel the yearly production cycle. They have a small number of livestock that helps to keep the grass short and to fertilize their crops; they make their own conserves that sustain them through winter; and they built their farm house with ancient techniques and natural materials that keep it dry and warm throughout the year.

Over the last 15+ years, they've developed a unique set of skills and knowledge, that they enjoy sharing with others. Their self-sufficient farm is completely organic and features autoctonous species of many kinds, ancient grains, happy chickens, self-suffient apiculture, wild pasture, a syntropic orchard, natural soaps and so much more...

Their Agriturismo has two large en-suite bedrooms fit for 2 to 4 people each and a family apartment with fully equipped kitchen. The farm has a stunning view over the Gulf of  Policastro. Nearby, you will find the town of Vibonati on your way to the seaside.

Your stay on the farm includes accommodation at B&B, full access to the veg garden and farm lands, and a number of organized activities, which you can expand according to your wishes. You'll have a choice of fun excursions both in the hills and by the sea, like catching a boatride to one of the remote beaches of the Cilento Coast, visiting one of the cold springs of the National Park, or going on a foraging hike.

You can be as involved as you wish in the farm activities. If you want to take the afternoon to relax or read, there is no pressure to join in. You will need a (rental) car or bike to get around, which we are happy to arrange for you for the duration of your trip or even just for a couple of days.

Amedeo & Lisa are waiting to welcome you in their slice of paradise!

FAQ

Why do I need my own means of transportation?
Amedeo and Lisa have a family with two young kids and have a very busy schedule on the farm. This means that they are unable to guarantee being able to give their guests rides during their stay.
What are my transport options?
If you already have a car at your disposal, we will make sure you have all the correct details to get to the farm and all the fun places to visit. Amedeo and Lisa will be happy to give you any additional explanations and tips. If you are traveling to Italy by air, we recommend you rent a car at the airport. This is much cheaper than anywhere outside the big city. Do you prefer to travel by train and rent a bike for your stay? No problem, we're glad to help. We'll order you a cab from Sapri on arrival and departure day and make sure your (e-)bike is brought to the farm. Rental bikes can be equipped with children's seats. Beware there is a limited supply, so early booking is appreciated.
What can I expect wrt food choices and pricing?
Cilento is an area with fair prices for both streetfood/snacks and sit-down meals. In most places you can stay under 30 euros per adult for a 3-course meal with and water. Most places are happy to cater to specific needs and all restaurants are required to clearly indicate known allergens on their menus. You will find mostly local and seasonal products, a simple, rural style cooking that uses carefully selected fresh ingredients to create a surprising depth of flavor. Seafood and fish are mostly found in the coastal towns. Inland, you will find mostly meat and vegetable dishes. Smaller restaurants and agriturismos may not be equipped for electronic payment.
When should I find shops and food places open?
For restaurants, opening times are roughly from 12:30PM to 3PM and 8PM to 11PM. Small, local shops are usually open from 8AM to 1PM and from 4.30PM to 8PM. Ice cream parlours, bars and pastry shops are usually open all day in summer, but not always in the low season. Pharmacies may close but in any given town, one should be open during weekends and on-call for very late and early hours.
Can I use my card or phone to pay or do I need cash?
In South-Italy it is always a good idea to have some cash at hand. Amedeo does not have any possibility to process cards, and so additional services should be settled in cash. The same may go for other services in the area, such as outings on bike or boat. In general, please beware that the costs for card processing in Italy are high, and so any amount under 10 euros settled in cash is greatly appreciated.
